My Way of Giving Back to the Community

I am a survivor of family/domestic violence brought about by my son’s self-destructive and violent behaviours. Over the past 14 years, he has been ravaged by addiction to alcohol, drugs and other substances; diagnosed with other serious mental health disorders; lived on the streets (his choice, refusing all help); and repeated stints in institutions (prisons; hospitals in ICU, emergency and psych wards). A continual ‘merry-go-round’ but not the fun kind!

I have researched and used numerous resources to help me cope over the years and went on to develop a tailored coping strategy/tool, The 8 Paces. This is for anybody dealing with and trying to cope with a family member, friend or work colleague suffering from addiction. The 8 Paces is dedicated to helping you deal with the turbulence within and around you. I have featured a snippet about The 8 Paces on this site where you have the option to download the free book. This is my gift to anybody who needs a helping hand. Read more on The 8 Paces here »
