There is less enthusiasm this time around from Australian candidates in applying for jobs in the mining industry as revealed by organisations/employers in this sector. The majority of jobs are currently being filled by migrant workers.

Two key States (Queensland and Western Australia) are the big players and recovering well from the severe downturn which occurred between 2012 and 2016.
